Peterson is trying to bend the drain rods to clear a way to enter Drain 267.
The giant ants are using their large mandibles to tear away support beams trying to get at the kids.
Peterson manages to make his way down to the area with his flamethrower ready.
One of the giants ants crashes through a beam, getting closer to the kids.
O'BRIEN (radio transmit): To all units, condition red. Drain 267 is the target area! O'Connoll, bring up my jeep. I hope we found this nest in time, Doctor.
Peterson gets in position and ignites the flamethrower.
The giant ant is engulfed with flames.
He fires the flamethrower at the other giant ant, it too is covered with flames.
PETERSON: Mike, Jerry! Get in the corner!
The giant FLAMING ant is still trying to get at the kids. Mike and Jerry are terrified. Peterson douses it with more flames. Finally an opening for Peterson to get the kids.
PETERSON: Come on Jerry! Mike, let's get out of here!
He picks up Mike with Jerry right behind and they race to the drain opening.
