They see the bloodied body of Gramps.
BLACKBURN: Gramps.
PETERSON: Looks like was he dragged and thrown down there.
They then notice a huge hole ripped out the side of the store and go over there. The strong dusty wind forcing it's way through the opening as Peterson inspects the surrounding damage.
PETERSON: What do you make of it?
BLACKBURN: What did you make of the trailer?
PETERSON: Yea. This wasn't pushed in, it was pulled out, just like at the trailer.
Blackburn's attention turns towards the floor.
BLACKBURN: Ben, have a look at this. . . . Sugar.
Peterson inspects the spilled sand from the barrell, it's riddled with tiny ants.
Peterson walks over to the cash register, Blackburn follows. He opens the register, filled with money.
PETERSON: Money wasn't taken here either.
PETERSON: Look Ed, this is another 9-14. I'm going to put in a call to the guys at the trailer to stop by here. I want to get into headquarters and be there when the little girl starts talking.
BLACKBURN: I'll stick around and ride with them.
PETERSON: Stay loose.
BLACKBURN: Sure, Ben.
Peterson leaves. Blackburn heads into the kitchen area and turns off the radio. Suddenly he hears a high pitch oscillating sound from outside. Alarmed, turns out the light, he draws his gun and steps out to investigate.
The sound continues, turns out another light. Blackburn looks out the huge ripped hole of the store. He walks outside past the store window, he's no longer seen on screen. Suddenly multiple gunfire and Blackburn screams in agony. The strange sound continues.
