Riddick starts to leave, but Lord Marshal order his troops to stop him. Walking towards Riddick, Lord Marshal stops at Ingur's body and yanks out the dagger. Approaching Riddick, he asks what he thinks of this blade. Riddick performs some spinning, twirling tricks with the dagger, hands it back, "I think it's a half gram heavy on the back end."
Lord Marshal reaches for the dagger, "In our faith, you keep what you kill." But as he has his hand on Riddick, he senses something familiar about him. Lord Marshal orders his troops to take Riddick to the Quasi-Deads. Troops surround him, but Riddick doesn't move. Dame Vaako steps in using her seductive ways to get him to go peacefully. They depart as Vaako gives them a disapproving look.
Inside the Necromonger ship: Riddick and others walk through the ships main chamber, covered with massive decor and large statues. Dame Vaacko explains the The last six Lord Marshals have called this home. As they walk, he sees people suspended in corridors with spike pricking their neck. The Purifier explains they are converts receiving the mark of the Necromonger. They learn how one pain can lessen another. Dame Vaako guides Riddick into a smaller chamber area and positions him on a circular pedestal.
He is restrained by some type of magnetic pulse as three capsules extend near him. Each containing a Quasi-Dead, half-dead telepaths, they probe his memories. The being whisper in a hypnotic tone, they've entered his neocortex. Early memories first - Jack, Imam, the Elemental. The Lord Marshal tells the Quasi-Dead he wants to know where does he come from and who are his people.
Through Riddicks memories they discover a Furyan energy, Shira. They realize he is a Furyan survivor. Shira, "Look at our world, at the graves of those who didn't escape years ago. There is no future until we settle our past... for all of us who bear the mark." The Quasi-Dead start chanting repeatedly kill the Riddick.
Lord Marshal orders Riddick's death, but mysteriously, the Necro Purifier deactivates the magnetic pulse lock down restraining Riddick. Necro warriors attack, he takes them out and takes their gun, blasting away. Vaako jumps down to join the battle, but is blasted back by Riddick, who leaps on one of the Quasi-Dead capsules that is retracting back in it's place. Riddicks finds a way to escape the Necromonger ship.
Outside, a Necromonger craft is hot on his tail, but then we see someone holding a weapon aimed at the craft, suddenly it explodes and crashes dangerously close to Riddick. Then behind him, a voice, it's Toombs, "Couple of things you could have done better. First, trash the locator beacon inside my ship . . . the one you jacked. And second . . . and this is really the more important part . . . dust my dick when you get the chance." Toombs has a new team of mercs. Eve Logan, a beautiful female Merc clamps cuffs on him, "Let's go, big boy."
Once on the Merc ship, they make their getaway. However they realize they are being scanned. They drop a small drone from the belly of the Merc ship. It flies off in another detection and the crew are relieved to see the scan has dropped off. Riddick, locked up with harnesses, they go back and forth where they are going to dump him for the payday. But Riddick has already figured out where Toombs plans to take him.
Riddick, "He's thinkin' a triple-max prison. A no-daylight slam. Only three of them left in this system. Two of them out of range for a shitty little undercutter like this one with no legs. Leaving just . . . one . . . Crematoria. That is what you had in mind, right, Toombs?" Toombs irritated that Riddick has figure out his plan that he didn't even tell his crew, gets in the last word, "You know, you're supposed to be some slick-shit killer. Now look at you . . . all back-of-the-bus and shit."
Back on Helion Prime: Lord Marshal and his commanders are planning a battle strategy on the rest of the Helion System. Commander Scales wants to attack Helion Two next. Take it straight into their teeth. He estimates it will cost them twenty thousand heads, five warrior ships, nothing more. While Lord Marshal does prize brute force, he suggests another approach that is perhaps more artful. Start at the end. Go straight to Helion Five, the last planet in the system. They approach from the night side.
Then attack the larger placements at speed. They'll catch them on their rear flank. And in ten days time, the rest of those worlds will tumble before them. Their blind spot is right behind them. Then Lord Marshal suddenly turns behind him and sees Vaako, who explains he located an ion trail which leads off-world and he's deployed a tracker team. One of the best. But Lord Marshal wants Vaako to lens Riddick and cleanse him. Vaako is disturbed by this request but complies.
Later, Vaako is talking with his wife. She's very critical of Lord Marshal and playing on Vaako's pride trying to convince him he would make a better leader. Vaako is irritated by her attitude and assures her Lord Marshal will name a successor when he is ready and his death will come in due time, not a moment sooner. She continues to egg him on, he loses his control and back hands her across the room.
But for her, that is foreplay, she lunges and pounces on him as they kiss passionately. Dame Vaako schemes of a fantasy with her and him sitting on the throne. He's receptive and they make their way down a hall. But they see Lord Marshal who is talking with Aereon, now a captive. Dame Vaako tells her husband to be the good warrior, go after this Riddick, and she find out why the Lord Marshal is so threatened by him.
Back on the Merc ship, the whole crew are asleep including Riddick. Eve wakes up and slowly approaches Riddick. Intrigued, sh positions herself over him, looking closely. Checking to see if he really is asleep, she gently removes his goggles, his eyes are closed. Face to face, suddenly his eyes pop open. Startled, she tries to step back, but he has her in a leg lock. Riddick, "Do you know you grind your teeth at night? Sexy."
Igneon System, Planet Crematoria: The Merc's ship has reached it's destination. The crew prepare prepare for landing - Unlocking manual controls. 700 degrees on the day side, 300 below on the night side. They CANNOT get caught in the sun. Toombs, "If I owned this place and hell, I'd rent this place out and live in hell." Stand by. Plotted course, good. Angle of approach, not good. The ship jets down screaming through the atmosphere.
The ship is vibrating violently. Some of the crew consider it a thrill. They are near the surface now at high velocity, Eve kicks on the "Party poppers," sort of like small engines on a rope to slow down their approach. They slide into the hangar, the ship is smoking from intense heat. The Mercs secure Riddick on a rail car and head to the subterranean prison.
One of the Mercs is sitting on Riddick, but he hefts his legs up, lifting the Merc. The Merc's head slams into a ceiling fixture knocking him off the rail car. Toombs looks back to see the Merc is now missing, "Four way split!" They reach the entrance and are greeted by the Slam Boss and Guards. Once in the Guard's office, a disagreement breaks out between Toombs and the Slam Boss over what Toombs is owed.
As they talk, the Slam Boss tells them of a "Ghost Army" killing entire worlds and leaving behind dead systems. The mercs and the slam guards can't agree on the bounty to be paid for Riddick.
The Slam Boss offers for them to stay over as guests while he runs the numbers again for an agreeable bounty price.
In the prison, Riddick finds out Jack is now known as Kyra and is tough as nails.
On Helion Prime, the Necro Dame Vaako, Vaako's wife, speaks to Aereon, now imprisoned by the Necros. Dame Vaako has no respect for Elementals, considering them nothing more than witches and spies.
Aereon reveals that The Lord Marshal previously tried to exterminate the race of Furians because of a prophecy which foretold a Furyan male child would cause the Lord Marshal's downfall.
Using the Quasi-Dead to communicate with each other, Dame Vaako and her husband determine Lord Marshal wants Riddick dead, as he may be the child of said prophecy.
