They are an army unlike any other . . . crusading across the stars toward a place called UnderVerse, their promised land . . . a constellation of dark new worlds. Necromongers, they're called. And if they cannot convert you, they will kill you.

Leading them, the Lord Marshal. He alone has made a pilgrimage to the gates of the UnderVerse . . . and returned a different being. Stronger. Stranger. Half alive and half . . . something else.

If we are to survive, a new balance must be found. In normal times, evil would be fought by good. But in times like these, well, it should be fought by another kind of evil.

U.V. System Planet Six, a snow planet lit only by ultraviolet light: Riddick, an escaped convict with a price on his head, has been on the run for five years after fleeing from a barren planet infested with vicious creatures, known as Planet Number Two of the M-344/G system (Pitch Black 2000).

We see him running, there is no surface really, jumping across rocky ledges, like stepping stones. Suddenly a small craft rockets into view, hot on his tail.

The pilot, a bounty hunter named Toombs, is trying to fix a line of fire on Riddick. Two gunners are attached outside the ship with harnesses, on each side of the ship. Target in sight, Tombs orders his gunner to take the shot.

The gunner fires and a net with spikes slams into the ice, right on the heels of Riddick. A second net is fired, misses again, sticks to a rock. A third net is fired just as Riddick reaches the opening of a cave. It misses, but one of the spikes impales in Riddick's leg.

The ship comes to a sudden stop just outside the cave entrance. Riddick yanks the spike out of his leg, stands up and defiantly taunts his hunters to come in after him. He races off deeper into the cave.

Tomb's crew is apprehensive about entering, the craft is not much smaller than the openng. Tombs, thinking only about the biggest payday ever, blows them off. He kicks on the search lights and accelerates forward.

The Merc's craft cautiously snakes it's way through the cramped cave interior, not seeing Riddick just behind a rocky mound. As the ship passes by him, Riddick slashes the gunner's harness straps, sending him down a steep fall, a deathly crash into rock, one Merc down.

Alarmed, Toombs and a Merc with him in the cockpit look out using the search light, they only see the cut harness straps flapping in the wind.

Toombs asks the other gunner, Taggs, if he has a sight on Riddick. No answer. Toombs aims the spotlight to the other side . . . same thing, Taggs is missing. Only the net gun is swinging in the wind.

The Merc behind Toombs is panicking because Riddick just ghosted two guys without even being seen. He wimpers to Toombs about calling off the hunt, but Toombs orders him to grab a Gat.

Toombs suggests they stay on top of him this time. But it's Riddick that's on top of them. The ship climbs upwards, revealing Riddick standing on top of the craft. The Merc holding the Gat pokes his head out the cargo opening looking for Riddick.

Suddenly, from the roof of the ship, Riddick grabs him by the shoulders and heaves him out of the ship, the Merc falls, slamming into rocks. The Merc is battered but he does survive the fall.
