1997
In 1997, Los Angeles is suffering from both a heat wave and a turf war between heavily armed Colombian and Jamaican drug cartels. A Predator watches a shootout between the police and Colombians, as Lieutenant Harrigan charges into the firefight to rescue two wounded officers. While the police wait for a federal task force to arrive, the Predator crashes through a skylight and attacks the Colombians.
Harrigan and his detectives Cantrell and Archuleta find the Colombians have been slaughtered. Harrigan pursues the gang leader onto the roof and shoots him, catching a glimpse of the camouflaged Predator's silhouette. Harrigan is introduced to Special Agent Keyes, leader of the task force who are purportedly investigating the cartels.
Later that evening, the Predator kills several Jamaican cartel members, while they are ritualistically murdering the Colombian drug lord at his home. Harrigan and his team enter the penthouse where they find the Jamaicans' skinned corpses suspended from the rafters. Keyes kicks Harrigan's team out, but Archuleta later returns to continue investigating. He finds a Predator's speartip weapons in a vent, but is then killed by the Predator.
A forensic scientist finds the speartip does not correspond to any known element in the periodic table. Looking for answers, Harrigan meets with Jamaican drug lord King Willie, a voodoo practitioner. King Willie tells Harrigan that the killer is supernatural, and that he should prepare himself for battle against him. After Harrigan leaves, the Predator kills King Willie.
Cantrell and Lambert are intervening in a mugging on the subway when the Predator attacks them. Lambert faces off against the Predator and is killed. The Predator spares Cantrell when his thermal vision reveals that she is pregnant. Arriving on the scene, Harrigan chases the Predator but is stopped by Keyes, who reveals that the killer is an extraterrestrial hunter.
Keyes and his team have set a trap in a nearby slaughterhouse, using thermally insulated suits and cryogenic weapons in an attempt to capture him for study. However, the Predator sees through the trap by adjusting his Predator Vision and kills the team. Harrigan intervenes, shooting the Predator several times and removing his mask. Still alive, the Predator kills Keyes using a throwing disc and escapes to the roof.
Harrigan knocks him over the side and finds himself on a narrow ledge with the Predator hanging below. The Predator attempts to activate the self-destruct device, but Harrigan grabs the hunter's throwing disc and uses it to sever his forearm and destroy the device. The Predator falls through an apartment window and uses a medical kit to treat his wounds, then flees through the building.
Harrigan follows him down an elevator shaft and finds a spacecraft in an underground chamber. We see a trophy case that contains an Alien skull. Inside the ship, the two face off in a final duel, with Harrigan finally killing the Predator. A number of other Predators appear, collecting their dead comrade and presenting Harrigan with an antique pistol. Harrigan escapes from the ship as it takes off and reaches the surface. Harrigan suspects they will soon return.

Low Earth orbit - Weyland Corporation Satellite PS12. The satellite is one giant camera aimed towards the Earth. The camera is recording images of something on the surface of the Earth far below. In Silver Leaf, Nebraska, rows of radio dishes pointed toward the heavens. This is Weyland Industries - Tracking and Data Relay Satellite Receiving Station #6-D.
Inside, technicians and scientists monitor the data from the satellites orbiting the Earth. We get the feeling nothing ever happens here. A technician notices a flashing light on the console behind him. A video displays a visual alert - Unidentified Heat Signature, or 'heat bloom.' It's the data stream from PS12, right above Sector 14 - Antarctica. It shows the pattern of interlocking square shapes.
OCTOBER 9-10, 2004
Billionaire Charles Bishop Weyland, pioneer of modern robotics, assembles a team of scientists, archaeologists, drillers, mercenaries, and an arctic guide to investigate the heat bloom. Weyland briefs the team enroute to Antarctica on the Ice Breaker Ship Piper Maru. His experts tell him the heat bloom is a pyramid 2,000 feet below Bouvetoya Island.
A Predator ship reaches Earth orbit, it blasts a shaft down through the ice towards the source of the heat bloom. When the human team arrives at the site above the heat source they find this hole and descend beneath the ice. Upon discovering the pyramid, they explore and find evidence of a civilization predating written history.
Meanwhile, three Predator warriors land and make their way down to the pyramid, arriving just as the team unwittingly powers up the structure. Several of the humans become trapped in the sacrificial chamber. An imprisoned Alien queen awakens from cryogenic stasis and begins producing eggs, from which facehuggers hatch and attach themselves to several of the humans. These creatures have a wonderful defense mechanism . . . acid for blood.
Chest Bursters soon emerge from the humans and quickly grow into adult Aliens. Conflicts erupt between the Predators, Aliens and humans, resulting in several deaths. One of the Predators is implanted with an Alien embryo by a facehugger. Upon discovering the ancient history mentioned above, they realize the Predators are there to hunt the Aliens again. The heat bloom was bait and they fell for the trap.
The remaining humans decide the Predators must be allowed to succeed in their hunt so that the Aliens do not spread to the rest of Earth. As the battle continues, most of the characters are killed off (including Weyland), leaving only Alexa Woods, the arctic guide, and a single surviving Predator, Scar, to face off against the remaining Aliens, who become unlikely allies.
Scar activates his self-destruct device to destroy the pyramid and the remaining Aliens, except for the Alien queen, and escape to the surface. The Alien queen emerges and the three and engage in a savage battle. Alexa and Scar defeat the queen by attaching its chain to a Separator and pushing it over a cliff and into the ocean, dragging the queen down to the ocean floor.
Scar, however, dies from his wounds. A Predator ship suddenly decloaks and several Predator warriors appear. They collect their fallen comrade as a Predator Elder presents Alexa with one of their spear weapons. As they retreat into space, a chestburster erupts from the dead Predator. It appears to be an Alien/Predator hybrid, as it has the characteristic jaw mandibles of both species.
OCTOBER 11, 2004
This chapter begins with a short re-cap of the Predator spaceship leaving Earth with the body of Scar, and the hybrid Chest Burster mentioned above erupts from the dead Predator. It quickly matures into an adult and begins killing Predators throughout the ship. A Predator's weapons fire punctures the hull and the ship crashes near Gunnison, Colorado.
With the Predators dead, the hybrid and several facehuggers escape, implanting embryos into nearby locals. A distress signal from the wrecked ship reaches the Predator home world and a lone Predator responds, traveling to Earth to track the facehuggers. It begins to erase the evidence of the Aliens' presence by destroying the crashed ship, the bodies of the facehuggers, and their victims.
Meanwhile, small town drama is mixed in the story by adding Dallas Howard, his brother Ricky who has a romantic interest with Jesse, her boyfriend Dale, and Sheriff Morales. Kelly O'Brien has also just returned from military duty, and reunites with her husband Tim and daughter Molly. The Predator fights a number of Aliens in the sewers, and as the battle reaches the surface, several of them disperse into the town.
The Predator pursues some to the power plant, where collateral damage from its weaponry causes a city-wide power outage. The teens of the bunch wind up at a high school swimming pool just as the power fails. An Alien enters the building, killing two of them. Another Alien invades the O'Brien home, killing Tim while Kelly escapes with Molly. These locals all wind up at a sporting goods store to gather weapons. Troops from the Colorado Army National Guard arrive but are quickly killed by the Aliens.
When the Predator and Aliens battle in the store, his shoulder cannons are damaged; but he modifies one into a hand-held blaster. The survivors make contact with Colonel Stevens, and learn that an evacuation is being staged at the center of town. Kelly doesn't believe the colonel. She convinces the group to go to the hospital where they hope to escape by helicopter. The hospital, however, has been invaded by Aliens. The Predator soon arrives, kills Jesse, and Dallas takes possession of the Predator's blaster cannon.
As the battle reaches the rooftop, the survivors escape in the helicopter while the Predator battles the hybrid hand-to-hand. A military jet arrives, executing a tactical nuclear strike that destroys the entire city, including the aliens and the remaining citizens. The shock wave causes the fleeing helicopter to crash in a clearing, where the survivors are rescued by the military.
LATE 2004
Dallas Howard was still in possession of the Predator's blaster cannon when the helicopter crashed, which is confiscated by the military. The alien gun soon finds it's way to Colonel Stevens. Later, the Colonel, carrying a metal case, is accompanied by two military generals. They enter a large corporate conference room. Someone is expecting them. Stevens opens the case and presents it to Ms. Yutani.
2010
By mysterious events, the following were dumped into a dense jungle: mercenary Royce, Mexican drug cartel enforcer Cuchillo, Spetsnaz soldier Nikolai, Israel Defense Forces sniper Isabelle, Revolutionary United Front officer Mombasa, death row inmate Stans, Yakuza enforcer Hanzo, and doctor Edwin. All are armed and lethal killers, with the apparent exception of Edwin. None of them know where they are or how they got there.
The group follows Royce, they find empty cages, plants with a neurotoxic poison that Edwin collects on a scalpel, and a deceased US Special Forces soldier. Arriving at higher ground they find themselves staring at an alien sky and realize that they are not on Earth. The party is attacked by a pack of quadruped alien beasts, during which Cuchillo is killed. The survivors avoid a trap, as something tries to lure them close to his slumped body.
Royce guesses they are on a planet used as a game preserve, where humans are hunted as game. The group follows the quadrupeds' tracks to a hunting encampment and find a captive Predator. Three larger Predators attack, revealed to be their hunters, killing Mombasa as the rest of the group escapes. Isabelle reveals that she has heard of the Predators before, from a 1987 Guatemala report. The group next meets Noland, a lone soldier who has survived on the planet for years by hiding and scavenging.
Noland has been watching them, cloaked with confiscated Predator armor. He explains that the Predators sharpen their killing skills by collecting warriors and dangerous beasts from other worlds and bringing them to the planet to hunt. Noland also reveals that there is a blood feud between the larger Predators and the smaller ones. Royce hopes that if the group can free the smaller Predator being held prisoner, it may take them home using the other Predators' spaceship.
Noland, driven mad by years of isolation and looking to obtain the group's supplies, attempts to murder the group during the night. Royce uses an explosive to attract the Predators, who kill Noland. In the ensuing chase, Nikolai sacrifices himself to kill one of the Predators using an explosive. Stans savagely attacks a second Predator with his shiv to allow the others to escape, and is killed.
Hanzo duels the third Predator with a katana, killing it at the cost of his own life. Edwin is injured by a trap as he, Royce, and Isabelle head for the encampment. When Isabelle refuses to abandon him, Royce leaves them both behind and they are caught by the remaining large Predator. Royce frees the smaller Predator and heads for the ship as the two Predators confront each other.
The larger Predator kills the smaller one and then destroys the ship as it takes off. Meanwhile, Edwin paralyzes Isabelle with the neurotoxic poison on his scalpel and reveals that on Earth he was a serial killer, and feels that he fits in on this planet among the monsters. Royce appears, never having boarded the ship, and saves Isabelle.
Royce booby-traps Edwin with grenades, using him as bait to disorient the Predator. A fight ensues in which Royce successfully decapitates the Predator after being saved by a sniper shot from the recovering Isabelle. As Royce and Isabelle recover from their ordeal, they observe more prey parachuting into the jungle. Royce tells Isabelle that they must find another way to get off the planet.
