Tomorrowland - 2015

Bound by a shared destiny, a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor jaded by disillusionment embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory as "Tomorrowland. What they must do there changes the world—and them—forever.

Tomorrowland movie stars George Clooney (Gravity, Ocean's 11), Hugh Laurie (House, Blackadder) and Britt Robertson (Scream 4, Life Unexpected) in an epic science fiction movie from Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Featuring a screenplay by Brad Bird and Lost writer and co-creator Damon Lindelof, from a story by Lindelof & Jeff Jensen and Bird, Tomorrowland promises to take audiences on a thrill ride of nonstop adventures through new dimensions that have only been dreamed of.

Other Cast: Thomas Robinson as young Frank Walker, Raffey Cassidy as Athena, Kathryn Hahn as Ursula, Tim McGraw, Keegan-Michael Key, Judy Greer, and Garry Chalk.

The project was green-lit by Walt Disney Studios' Sean Bailey in June 2011 when Damon Lindelof signed to write and produce. In May 2012, Brad Bird was hired as director. Later that year in November, George Clooney entered negotiations to star in the film. In February 2013, Hugh Laurie joined the film.

While keeping information about the plot secret, when asked whether the project was related to the studio's development of Star Wars Episode VII in November 2012, Bird denied the claim, but confirmed Tomorrowland is a science fiction film, with Lindelof adding in January 2013 that the film will not center on extraterrestrials.

On January 23, 2013, nearly a week before the title change, Bird posted a picture on his Twitter page related to the project. The image showed a frayed cardboard box labeled 1952, supposedly uncovered from the Walt Disney Imagineering developmental unit, and contained items like archival photographs of Walt Disney, Technicolor film, envelopes, a vinyl record, space technology literature, a 1928 copy of an Amazing Stories magazine (which introduced Philip Francis Nowlan's Buck Rogers character), and an unidentified metal object. In July 2013, Britt Robertson was cast.

On August 10, 2013, Brad Bird and Damon Lindelof gave a presentation at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. They opened the "1952" box and revealed many of its contents. Later that day a pavilion was unveiled on the D23 Expo show floor which presented the items for close inspection by guests. There was also an accompanying iPhone app which took viewers through the exhibit much like you would experience a museum exhibit. Michael Giacchino was hired to compose the film music.

Principal photography commenced in Enderby, British Columbia on August 19, 2013, and also filmed in Vancouver and Surrey, ending on January 15, 2014. In October 2013, Kathryn Hahn was cast as a character named Ursula. Also in October, it was announced that part of the filming will take place in the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia.

In November 2013, scenes of the film were also shot at New Smyrna Beach, and the Carousel of Progress attraction at Walt Disney World in Florida. On February 5, 2014, additional filming took place at the It's a Small World attraction at Disneyland in California. The film is scheduled to be released on May 22, 2015 in theatres and IMAX.
