Carl has a violent moment, slamming his hands on the tub. Catherine reaches for her implant, ready to press it. Carl rises and faces her.

STARGHER: Is that right? In what world do you live in?

CATHERINE: Carl, where is Julia Hickson?

STARGHER: No names. No names!

He angrily kicks away the stool and starts backing towards the wall.

CATHERINE: Where is she? I know you Carl, you want to tell me.

STARGHER: You know me? Do you know who I am!

Stargher retreats into the shadows, but Catherine persists.

CATHERINE: Where is she? Where's Julia?

Stargher is now in the corner, hidden in darkness.

STARGHER: Where's Julia, Carl?

STARGHER'S BATHROOM: Suddenly with lightning quick speed, Stargher King comes up behind her, pulls her hand away from the implant, and restrains her arms A wave of fear, of impending doom, overtakes Catherine. He slams her onto the floor, the back of her head hitting hard. Her vision blurs. Ears are ringing.

LABORATORY: Henry sees a rapid rise in Catherine's warning meter.

HENRY: Miriam...

He points to a reading on the computer monitor, it's toggling Guest/Host.

HENRY: That can't be right.

STARGHER'S BATHROOM: Stargher slowly creeps over her body like a snake, regarding her with great curiosity. He sits up and straddles her, with a ritual-like gesture, a metal neck collar appears in hands. He clamps the collar forcefully on her neck, blood trickles from underneath the collar.

CAMPBELL CENTER - LABORATORY: A sensor alarm sounds on the computer. Henry and Miriam express shock at the sight of the monitor peaking in the red and move to the "map" of Catherine's mind. As it becomes "cool," Stargher's becomes "hot."

MIRIAM: It's going to fall.

HENRY: No change.

MIRIAM: Christ!

HENRY: What about emergency cessation?

MIRIAM: No.

HENRY: Gradually terminate the feed, disable the receptors . . . .

MIRIAM (annoyed with the audible alarm): It could be traumatic. Henry, could you please shut that thing off!

HENRY: No change.

Novak questions the scientists.

NOVAK: What's going on?

HENRY: That hypothetical situation I told you about? It's happening.

NOVAK: Well, can't you stop it?

MIRIAM: It's not that simple

NOVAK: You stopped it before, when . . .

MIRIAM (interrupts): Yes, that was different. That was Edward. With Stargher, his mind is unfamiliar territory and she's "lost." She thinks this is real.

Mercy. Novak's mind reels.

NOVAK: Well, is there anything we can do?

HENRY: Whatever we do, runs the risk of making things worse for her.

NOVAK: Worse, that's great. So she's lost somewhere.

MIRIAM (looks at the third suit): Henry.

Henry looks at what Miriam is looking at. . . the third electronic mask.

HENRY: No. . . NO!, I need you here.

NOVAK: No, what?

HENRY (to Miriam): I need you here.

Novak finally looks at the third mask. Novak knows who that person will be.

THE CELL: Fueled with candy and juice, Julia paces the cell in a circle then sits on the bench. The shower erupts with water! Shivering, screaming, she gets on the bench and ducks in the corner.

JULIA: Fucking stop! STOP!!!

The water stops. She jumps down and starts banging on the glass.

JULIA: Let me the fuck out! Asshole! Let me out! Get me outta here, you sick fuck! FUCK YOUUUUUUU!

She hunches over and starts crying.

JULIA: Do something! Do something to me if you're . . . Do something.

Julia examines the cell for a way out, but finds tight seals everywhere. She eyes the glass seam along the cell and looks up, noticing a pipe. She climbs on the bench and tries prying it loose.

LABORATORY: In the Procedure Room, Miriam loads a microchip sensor into a high-pressure injection gun and implants it in Novak's hand. Novak lies in a hastily-rigged third apparatus/suspension device.

NOVAK: I feel like I got bugs crawling all over my body.

MIRIAM: It gets worse. . . You're completely unprepared for this.

NOVAK: Dr. Kent, we've been over all this.

MIRIAM: Yes, but I've been through the process.

NOVAK: She went through the process too, it didn't matter. You don't know him.

Miriam nods, knowing he won't accept an opposing argument.

MIRIAM: Okay.

She places the mask on his face. Moments later, she back in the control room. The pedestal below Novak is lowering.

MIRIAM (over the intercom): Peter, the first few minutes will be very disorienting. Remember to stay calm and focused. Instincts play a very important part here, so trust them.

At the controls, Henry whispers something to Miriam, she acknowledges.

MIRIAM: Peter, you've read her file. Hit her with something personal. And remember, Peter, it's not real.
