Deckard is still scrambling for an escape, he stops for a moment, he must do something about his fingers. He grabs them and snaps them back in place letting out a horrible scream.
Batty continues howling, louder this time, it echoes through the halls. Deckard enters another room, another dead end, no way to escape.
BATTY (OS): (laughing) I'm c-o-m-i-n-g!
Deckard goes to all the windows only to find them boarded up along with wired fencing.
BATTY (OS): Deckard!
Batty sounds close, Deckard turns around to look but doesn't see him.
BATTY (OS): FOUR . . FIVE! . . . . How to stay alive!
INT. DARKENED ROOM ARMOIRE: Deckard hears footsteps coming. There are no other exits. He looks at the armoire, his only escape.
He's climbing to a hole he sees in the ceiling. He works his way up the armoire structure.
While he's climbing, he drops his blaster, can't go back for it now. Batty continues to howl.
Batty has stripped down for the hunt wearing only black shorts and shoes.
BATTY: I can see you!
He's bobbing through the rooms closing in on his kill.
Deckard manages to reach the top with his head poking through the hole to the next floor. It's a restroom with sinks overflowing with water.
Off in another room, Batty's hand starts to cramp forming a clawed grip.
BATTY: Not . . . yet! . . . not . . .
His hand involuntarily forms into a closed fist. Batty is pulling at it, biting it, anything to keep it from cramping shut.
He looks around and sees a large nail half driven into a floor board.
With his power, he's able to pull the nail out with his hand.
Then with determination, he shoves the nail into the palm of his cramped hand, the point punctures through the back of his hand letting out a stream of blood.
His will power to to do this feat is matched only by the sheer pain it causes.
But this remedy has seemed to give him a temporary fix. He looks at his hand with satisfaction . . .
INT. RESTROOM: Meanwhile, Deckard has made it to his feet in the restroom and is taping up his broken fingers.
He's scoping out the restroom, nothing but water and checkered wall tiles.
