BATTY: Then a repressor protein that blocks the operating cells.
TYRELL: Wouldn't obstruct replication, but it does give rise to an error in replication so that the newly formed DNA strand carries a mutation and you've got a virus again... but uh, this . . . all of this is academic... you are made as well as we could make you.
BATTY: But not to last.
TYRELL: The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long.
TYRELL: And you have burned so very, very brightly, Roy. Look at you. You're the prodigal son. You're quite a prize.
Sebastian gives a sheepish grin as he listens to their conversation.
Batty looks down in a sudden, uncharacteristically humble posture and speaks with guilt in his voice.
BATTY: I've done . . . questionable things.
TYRELL: Also extraordinary things. -- revel in your time.
BATTY: Nothing the God of bio-mechanics wouldn't let you in heaven for.
They both smile. Batty embraces Tyrell's face with both hands, Tyrell looks unsure of Roy's intentions.
Batty plants his lips on Tyrell. Tyrell puts up no protest and perhaps a bit relieved that Roy has no intentions of harm, until . . . . .
CRACK! Batty is squeezing Tyrell's face with all his might.
Tyrell is screaming in agony.
His skull cracks like dry wood as Batty jams his thumbs into Tyrell's eyes.
Tyrell's blood is streaming across Batty's hands.
Sebastian stares in horror.
Batty releases Tyrell letting his body fall to the floor. Sebastian is terrified and runs for the exit. Batty follows after him.
BATTY: Sorry Sebastian . . . come . . . . . come here.
INT. ELEVATOR: Moments later, Batty is riding the elevator down . . . alone. His eyes glow with a savage fury.
CUT TO DECKARD'S CAR - NIGHT: Deckard is driving his car through a tunnel listening to the police scanner. He pulls over in a dark street to tend to hands-on matters - viewing notes, using the video phone, etc.
A pack of street scavenger dwarfs wander near by speaking gibberish, Deckard's car catches their attention, so they hang back in the shadows. Inside the car, Deckard is listening to Bryant on the radio giving information about the murders at the Tyrell corporation.
BRYANT (on radio): The body identified with Tyrell is a 25 year old caucasian, name is Sebastian - J.F. Sebastian, address - The Bradbury Apartments, 96NF46751. I want you to go down there.
A hovering police spinner zeroes in on Deckard's car. A PA System blares out.
SPINNER: This sector is closed to ground traffic. What are you doing here?
DECKARD: I'm working. What are you doing?
SPINNER: Arresting, that's what I'm doing.
DECKARD: I'm Deckard. Blade Runner, 26354. I'm filed and monitored.
SPINNER: Hold on, checking. . . . Okay, checked and cleared, have a better one.
Deckard punches a telephone number on the vid phone. On the vid-phone a strange out of focus face looks startled. It's Pris.
DECKARD: Hi.... J.F. there ?
PRIS: Who is it?
DECKARD: This is Eddie, an old friend of J.F.
Pris looks for a moment then terminates the call.
DECKARD: Ooh, no way to treat a friend.
