Excerpt from Jordu's About page: "Schell Sculpture Studio offers the finest creature and character design available anywhere.

The studio has been providing concept art in the industry for over ten years, and owner and head designer Jordu Schell has been in the film and television industry for over 23 years.

His talent as a designer and sculptor is world renowned, and his credits include: the forthcoming 'Avatar', 'The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian', '300', 'Hellboy', and many more (see his filmography below). Schell Sculpture Studio is a full service sculpture and design facility with a wealth of talent to match the need of any project. Our studio specializes in creature and character design, props, prototypes for toys and model kits, general special effects work, and creature design classes.

Our classes are taught by Jordu himself, and offer students a first-hand look at how creatures are created for the film, television, and gaming industries, as well as a thorough hands-on experience designing their own masks, maquettes and illustrations. Ours is the only school specializing in these aspects of conceptualization. Jordu has taught around the world, and at some of the most prestigious companies in the industry, including Industrial Light and Magic, Tippett Studio, Blizzard Entertainment, Blur Studio, Millennium Effects and many more."

Personal Quote: "Monsters for me are an expression of mankind's most terrible aspects. War, betrayal, corruption and deceit are bigger and more frightening than their manifestation in a single person.

I seek to bring to life in a symbolic way these horrors - to put a face to them, sum them up in one creature. But another, very important aspect of these creations is the intimate knowledge of death and disease that every man and woman must confront, eventually.

These creations represent my attempt at catharsis for these fears and understandings - something I can control when I am, in fact, powerless." . . . gnomongallery.com
